Yesterday, Friday, 8 August 2025, Air Force Base Takoradi held a candlelight vigil in honour of three gallant personnel who perished in the 6 August Z9 helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofuom: Squadron Leader Peter Baafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Mensah Addo.

The solemn event, attended by military leaders, families, and community members, featured tributes, prayers, and candle lighting to honour their service, sacrifice and legacy.

The Base Commander, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi praised the fallen as brave and loyal, assuring continued support to their families and extending words of consolation to all affected.
