On Saturday, 9 August 2025, the Base Commander of Air Force Base Takoradi, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, along with senior officers and members of the Air Wives Organisation, accompanied the Western Regional Minister, Honourable Joseph Nelson, to visit the wife of Sergeant Mensah Addo Ernest, who died on Wednesday, 6 August in the Z9 helicopter crash.

In a solemn moment, the Minister conveyed the government’s condolences, while Air Cdre Yirenkyi assured the bereaved family of the Air Force’s continued support.

The visit formed part of ongoing efforts to support the families of the fallen.
