
CAS COMMISERATES WITH AIR FORCE BASE TAKORADI
Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong, has paid a visit to Air Force Base Takoradi to commiserate with personnel and the wife of the late Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu on Thursday, 7 August 2025.
The visit followed the tragic crash of the Ghana Air Force Z9 helicopter on Wednesday, 6 August 2025, at Adansi Akrofuom claiming the lives of Squadron Leader Peter Baafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu, Sergeant Ernest Mensah Addo, all of Air Force Base Takoradi. The Minister for Defence, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah and four other government officials also died in the crash.
Upon arrival, the CAS held a brief meeting with the Base Commander, Air Commodore Eric Yirenkyi, and Staff Officers, offering words of comfort and encouragement. He urged them to remain resilient and steadfast in the face of this adversity.
He also paid a formal visit to the wife of the late Flying Officer Ampadu, Lieutenant (GN) Ewuradwoa Kumi-Kyereme, to offer his condolences and express solidarity. He prayed for God's strength and grace to uphold the family during this difficult time.
