
CAS OUTLINES 5-YEAR STRATEGY FOR THE GHANA AIR FORCE AT NCDS LECTURE
The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Eric Agyen-Frempong, has outlined the Ghana Air Force’s strategic direction for the next five years during a lecture at the National College of Defence Studies (NCDS) on Wednesday, 24 September 2025.
Delivering his address to participants of Course 2–2025, the CAS focused on the theme “Ghana Air Force Strategy 2025–2030”, where he emphasised the mission of the Air Force, which is to defend Ghana’s territorial airspace in support of national development. He stressed the need for a proactive posture in addressing emerging national security demands.
Air Vice Marshal Agyen-Frempong highlighted key areas, including the Theory of Air Power Strategy, the Strategic Narrative of the Ghana Air Force, and the Challenges and Opportunities facing the Service.
He underscored the importance of strategic partnerships, donor assistance, and government allocations in acquiring and sustaining modern platforms, technological upgrades, and capacity-building for personnel.
The CAS called for sustainable and diversified funding models, accelerated technology acquisition, enhanced indigenous research capabilities, balanced partnerships, and platform diversification to ensure the Ghana Air Force remains mission-ready.
The lecture concluded with an interactive session where participants engaged the CAS with contributions and discussions on the way forward for the Air Force.
