GAFTAG HANDS OVER DOG KENNEL FACILITY TO GAF

The German Armed Forces Technical Advisory Group (GAFTAG) has handed over a Dog Kennel Facility and a Toyota Haice van to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) on Tuesday 29 April 2025 at the Air Force Base, Tamale. The Dog Kennel was established to enhance the operational effectiveness of the Military working dog programme and contribute to the broader security architecture of the nation.

 

 

 

Receiving the facility and the vehicle on behalf of GAF, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Northern Command, Brigadier General Frank Nartey Tei expressed his appreciation to the Head of Mission and the entire GAFTAG Team for their gesture which shows commitment to strengtheningthe bilateral ties between GAF and GAFTAG. He stated that, GAFTAG over the years has been exceptional from the provision of technical assistance to the construction of critical infrastructure across the garrisons.

 

 

 

He added that, the completion and handing over of the facility and the vehicle signifies the strategic and operational partnership that will promote capacity building, sustainability and professionalism. He emphasized the importance of military working dogs in contemporary security operations, adding that, the facility will serve as a vital asset for training to enhance the overall force protection and base defence capability.

 

 

The Head of Mission GAFTAG, Lt Col Andreas Heselschwerdt expressed his pride in the long-standing security cooperation and partnership between GAFTAG and GAF. He noted that the construction of the Dog Facility will significantly contribute to military operations.
